Fuller House Comes to Netflix

Full House fans everywhere are excited about Fuller House, the Full House spin-off, which is coming to Netflix February 2016. It has been over twenty years since Full House ended which left many fans are wondering about what happened to their favorite characters. For those of you who haven’t watched Full House, it is about a man named Danny Tanner (Bob Saget) who lost his wife in an accident. He then has to take care of his daughters DJ (Candace Cameron-Bure), Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin), and Michelle (Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen). However he doesn’t do it alone. He employs the help of his best friend Joey (Dave Coulier) and his brother-in-law Jesse (John Stamos). Fuller House has a similar plot, but the roles are reversed. This time, DJ (Danny’s eldest daughter) has lost her husband and she must take care of her three sons with the help of Stephanie and DJ’s best friend Kimmy (Andrea Barber). Fuller House will also be different because Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, the actresses who played Michelle, will not be returning to the show.

Netflix has released a few teasers on Youtube. The first teaser primarily focuses on the streets of San Francisco and their house. No cast members are seen, but their very recognizable voices are present as well as some of their catch phrases. In the second teaser, we see Cameron-Bure, Sweetin, and Barber dancing to the “Watch Me”. In the third and most recent teaser, we get a behind-the-scenes look at the filming process and we also learn what filming Fuller House means to the actors. Dave Coulier states that “they say you can never go back home, but we came back home” (Netflix US & Canada).

What I am most excited about Fuller House is seeing how much each of the characters have changed, but at the same time, how much each character stayed true to themselves. I hope the most of the actors even keep their memorable catch phrases that they used all the time. Uncle Jesse would always say “have mercy” when he was about to kiss his wife Rebecca “Becky” Donaldson (Lori Loughlin). Stephanie would always say “how rude” or “pin a rose on your nose” when she was irritated or thought that she was being treated unfairly.  When Joey would tell a joke, he would always say “cut it out” after people laughed at his jokes. I hope that Fuller House will be able to keep its Full House fans satisfied and even attract new fans too!!
