Thank you for reading. I have poured my heart and soul into this online publication for four years. I have loved reading the articles from a plethora of Journalism Club members. New West Press gives a look at news, sports, media, and–of course–New West Life. It is been a privilege to found New West’s Journalism Club and watch it grow with time. I’m so proud of its oldest and newest club members and the products they have created. I will greatly miss working for New West Press. This has been a rewarding experience but it is time for me to graduate and pass the baton to Miss Lindsay Chang.
I’d like to give a special thanks to Ms Biggs and the seniors who wrote for New West Press this year: Marilyn Morris, Nicole Mendoza, Jade Yen, Angelica Means, Venice Teeter, Nima Zaghari, Isabel Agtual, Mayra Ornelas, Noah Kastenbaum, Jennifer Kishi, and Molly Egger. These AWESOME writers are going to one of the following prestigious schools: UCLA, UC Berkeley, APU, Williams, Smith, and UCSB. I am so blessed they chose to write for NWP and make the paper what it is today.
So thank you for reading. It proves that hours spent researching and writing were not for naught. Congratulations to the Class of 2016! I cannot wait to see how successful this class becomes, especially our several special Journalism members.
Founder and Former Editor in Chief of New West Press,
New West Class of 2016; Harvard Class of 2020
I want to thank all of you who have been keeping up with New West Press this year. It has been an honor being editor in chief, alongside with founder/editor Carrington Walsh. 2016 has been a huge year, and New West’s first graduating class have reached their last week in high school.
I have been a member of the Journalism club since 9th grade, so it is a great honor to be able to take over the club. I am so excited for new members to join! If you have already been writing with us, thank you for contributing to New West Press with your writing. If you are interested in writing for us, look out for the club fair in the fall when we come back to school, or drop me an email over the summer.
A big thank you to Carrington for putting all her heart and energy into this club. We care deeply about this club, and I will make sure to continue making it a safe place where anyone can express themselves creatively to share with their peers. We will miss Carrington dearly, and thanks to her, Journalism will forever be a part of New West.
Looking forward to a new year of Journalism,
Junior, Editor in Chief and Vice President (2015-2016)
